About This Project
Summary
Hermes is one of the first national nonprofits to offer completely free telehealth—especially mental health care—to uninsured, underinsured, and undocumented patients across the U.S. Our strategy combines a student-powered volunteer model with culturally competent, multilingual services. By partnering with local clinics and shelters, we identify high-need populations and deliver timely care through a scalable remote platform designed to close structural gaps in access.
Goals & Objectives
To provide free, accessible telehealth—particularly mental health support—for underserved populations; reduce cost, language, and logistical barriers to care; and create a replicable model that reimagines access to essential services in structurally marginalized communities.
Results & Impact
Hermes has provided over 6,000 hours of free mental health care to patients nationwide. We were invited to the United Nations as a Stakeholder for the Sustainable Development Goals and selected as the only U.S. project on the 2023 World Summit Young Innovators Awards Shortlist.
