Summary
: In Fiji, access to clean and safe drinking water is a challenge for many of the nation’s rural communities. The lack of piped water put the heaviest burden on women. This multimedia story shows how proceeds from Fiji’s first-ever sovereign green bond has transformed day-to-day life for one village.
Goals & Objectives
Through narrative storytelling, multimedia, and an audio story, we introduce audiences to a Fijian community whose lives have been transformed by access to clean, fresh water. Our reporting with key stakeholders about the potential of green bonds, highlights Fiji’s innovative approach to finance.
Results & Impact
Nearly 15K unique users engaged with the story, spending an average of 4 minutes on the page—showing strong interest in climate finance and how it transforms rural lives, especially for women in water-scarce communities.
