About This Project

Summary

Hope in the Water is a worldwide look at how humanity is impacting our aquatic food systems, and the people who are developing sustainable solutions that meet the dual need of protecting our waters and feeding a growing population. We launched this series in partnership with PBS, filtering our finances, production, and stories through a robust series of checks to ensure our work didn’t contain any conflicts of interest and reflected the diversity of their audience.

Goals & Objectives

Hope in the Water emerged from a mission-driven initiative aimed at increasing visibility for sustainable aquaculture, attracting financing from a variety of nonprofits and the support of numerous celebrities, and every dollar generated flows back to nonprofit causes.

Results & Impact

Hope in the Water presents actionable solutions that protect marine ecosystems and create sustainable food sources. PBS LearningMedia created curriculum-aligned resources for secondary students. We hosted national premieres and collaborated with grocery retailers during National Seafood Month.
