About This Project

Summary

The H.E.A.R.T.S. Adaptive Movement Campaign by Less Leg More Heart provides community-funded adaptive prosthetics—like running blades—to amputees denied coverage by insurance. Through peer mentorship, digital storytelling, and grassroots fundraising, the campaign restores mobility, confidence, and purpose. H.E.A.R.T.S. transforms barriers into breakthroughs and helps amputees reclaim their stride. Read San’s story: https://www.lesslegmoreheart.com/help-every-amputee-realize-their-strength

Goals & Objectives

The campaign aimed to: 1) Fund adaptive prosthetics for amputees lacking insurance coverage, 2) Raise awareness about mobility inequality, and 3) Empower recipients through mentorship , education and community, helping them reclaim physical freedom and emotional confidence.

Results & Impact

Raised over $20,000 to fund adaptive prosthetics for 10+ amputees. All recipients reported improved mobility, mental well-being, and quality of life. Through LLMH education, podcasts, and mental support, several became peer mentors, creating a ripple effect of empowerment and community support.
