2025 McNulty Prize winner Dr. Krithi Karanth leads the Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS) in India, uniting conservation with community prosperity amidst dwindling biodiversity. The film highlights her leadership and CWS’s new model of rewilding through research, policy, and community action. The Prize, jointly awarded with the Aspen Institute, recognizes visionary leaders addressing global challenges. Winners receive funding and tailored support valued at $350k, including a signature micro-doc.
Goals & Objectives
The micro-doc spotlights CWS’s impact across 7,000 villages, 10,000 farmers, and 50,000 students in India, re-positioning conservation as a long-term investment in people, coexistence and wildlife tolerance. The doc is part of the Prize, in the belief that revelatory storytelling can drive change.
Results & Impact
Pending wider distribution, the micro-doc premiered at the Resnick Aspen Action Forum, a convening of 500+ global leaders, funders, and organizations. The debut boosted CWS’s visibility and momentum, paving the way for its expansion and inspiring similar efforts across Asia and Africa.
