About This Project

Summary

Zero Waste Marin faced an urgent need to stop compostable food from ending up in landfills, where it generates harmful methane gas. They hired Most Likely To, who created Garbage Bands — a playful social-first campaign where foods sing for respect. With humor, music, Spanish-language inclusion, and a lean budget, we reframed composting as urgent, cultural, and fun, laying the groundwork for measurable change.

Goals & Objectives

Reduce compostable waste in Marin landfills by raising awareness of what belongs in the green bin. Engage diverse residents across ages and languages. Deliver strong reach, engagement, and build a baseline for measurable diversion improvements.

Results & Impact

Reached 70% of Marin with 3.3M impressions and 32,929 clicks. Social CTR 2.41% (2x benchmark); streaming audio CTR 0.35% (3x). 90% positive feedback praised the fun, musical approach. Spanish content added 700K impressions. Established a baseline for measurable diversion gains.
