About This Project
Summary
Finding Musana is a project that was created to increase awareness about a new way to address poverty: one that empowers locals to uplift themselves out of poverty so they are not reliant of foreign aid. Musana fundraises in the US and UK to build infrastructure: schools, hospitals, and that is entirely run by Ugandans. This movie shows the evolution of Musana in rural Eastern Uganda.
Goals & Objectives
The goal was to create a film that would include interviews with some of Musana's original orphans who were rescued. They have gone on to receive an education and share about their experiences that have led them to now be employed, some with Musana, as a teacher, pharmacist, and nurse, to name a few
Results & Impact
In 2024, Musana educated more than 5200 students, saw 48,996 patients in our hospitals, and employed 685 full-time Ugandans. The profits generated from affordable school fees and hospital visits, are cycled back into the community to serve the most vulnerable through scholarships and free healthcare
