About This Project
Summary
In 2020, 4-H and Schwab (previously TDA) launched 4-H Smart Cents, a flagship program to grow youth financial literacy. Grounded in research linking social-emotional skills, like goal setting, decision-making, and mindfulness, to lifelong financial well-being, Smart Cents combines practical financial education with personal development. Today, the program reaches diverse youth ages 8–17 through our eLearning platform, CLOVER by 4-H, and in-person through Ignite by 4-H and educator programs.
Goals & Objectives
The campaign aimed to redefine financial literacy by growing youth reach; leveraging Schwab employee input to create engaging online activities; gamifying existing activities; training educators; and engaging Ignite participants via an in-person Smart Cents activation.
