About This Project

Summary

Amputations without anesthesia. Surgeries without scalpels. Infections untreated. These were just some of the dozens of testimonies gathered from volunteer medics who travel to Gaza to provide care but face Israeli policies that directly prevent them from caring for the wounded and sick. Their stories are brought to life in the PHR-GHRC multimedia study “We Could Have Saved So Many More”: Anguish and Death Caused by Israel’s Restrictions on Medical Supplies in Gaza?.

Goals & Objectives

Our goal was to tell the world about this little-known dimension of the crisis in Gaza. Through artful animation & storytelling we wanted to use the vivid details of the physician personal testimonies to help audiences see the cruelty of preventing doctors from caring for people in a war zone.

Results & Impact

In just three weeks after publishing on 7/9/25, 2k+ visitors to the webpage; 13k+ accounts reached on Instagram, and media top-tier coverage including ABC News, HuffPost, and Global Health NOW.
