About This Project
Summary
The Youth Mental Health Corps, conceived by the Schultz Family Foundation and Pinterest, was launched in four states in 2024 to address the growing youth mental health crisis and the shortage of mental health professionals in under-resourced communities. Through a website, animated explainer, UGC videos from Corps members and three human-centered mini-docs, our campaign raised awareness of this innovative solution, helped recruit new members, and raised funding for nationwide expansion.
Goals & Objectives
Raise awareness of this innovative response to the mental health crisis, attract new funding partners, recruit Corps members, and showcase the value of near-peer care models. Inspire investment at the state and federal level while creating career pathways in behavioral health for a new generation.
Results & Impact
The campaign supported recruitment, helped build national visibility and reached policymakers & funders, securing investment that resulted in 275% growth from 4 to 11 states. Research suggests Corps presence helps improve attendance, decrease behavioral incidents and increase help-seeking behavior.
