About This Project
Summary
The mission of Surgical Data Science Collective (SDSC) is to be the global hub for surgical data, particularly video. Our Surgical Video Platform connects communities of surgeons and scientists, who use our AI/machine learning (ML) and data science tools to improve the practice of surgery. SDSC and its communities generate new data and new discoveries, making them accessible to surgeons and scientists worldwide, creating impactful implementations of surgical data science to make surgery safer.
Goals & Objectives
A single surgeon can impact more than 10,000 lives over the course of their career. By bringing cutting-edge AI/ML systems to surgeons globally, skills improve and new avenues of scientific discovery are created, thus attacking the problem of surgical availability and inequity at the source.
Results & Impact
Our Surgical Video Platform is the world’s largest independent surgical video repository. With users across 59 countries and partnerships with global institutions, SVP trains ML models to analyze surgical procedures providing feedback to improve outcomes and advance medical training worldwide.
