About This Project
Summary
Stories of Resistance is a podcast featuring digestible vignettes of true, inspiring stories of ordinary people’s extraordinary struggles for freedom across the Americas. Latin-America-based audio journalist Michael Fox weaves together investigative journalism, prose, historical memory, and analysis to tell historical and contemporary stories about workers’ struggles, grassroots resistance to dictatorship, Indigenous and environmental organizing, and more. Inspiration for dark times.
Goals & Objectives
As the US and societies around the globe descend into authoritarianism, our goal with this podcast is to provide listeners with compelling reminders that resistance is not futile, and examples of everyday people changing the course of history in equally dark and seemingly hopeless times.
Results & Impact
Listenership is consistently increasing, drawing 5,000 downloads per month after only six months. "My husband and I listen to [the show] in the mornings to bring these stories of hope and resilience with us throughout the day,” one reviewer told us. “They are needed in these days of uncertainty."
