About This Project
Summary
KnowGO is a sexual-abuse prevention program for grades 1–5 that teaches students to check their gut when a situation feels uncomfortable through 4 interactive animated modules—Touch, Secrets, Digital, and Separator. Alongside Skedaddle, students learn how to stay safe: Part 1 sets up a tricky scenario, after which the class votes with GO/KnowGO signs; Part 2 then reveals the answer. Teachers use discussion prompts, interactive games/activities, & parent take home activities.
Goals & Objectives
To reduce the sexual abuse of children by teaching every child to check their gut—their only reliable way to stay safe. When a moment feels off, name it KnowGO, step away, and tell a trusted adult. Equip teachers to build this habit with GO/KnowGO language, practice scripts, and take-home tools.
Results & Impact
By Sept 2025, 50,000+ students engaged across CA; multiple districts adopting and expanding; no parent pushback reported (non-explicit language). Pilot surfaced four girls’ concerns, enabling early adult action and validating the prevention model.
