About This Project

Summary

In 2025, the UNICEF-led Global Coalition for Youth Mental Health released a report focused on understanding how today's teens and young adults perceive and experience the impacts of world events on their mental health. The study features responses from 2,793 teens aged 14-17 and 2,774 adults aged 18-25 in seven countries: Japan, Mexico, Malaysia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and South Africa—covering a wide spread of age, region, gender and income level.

Goals & Objectives

The study seeks to spark a shared responsibility to design scalable, empathetic solutions for the next generation through holistic approaches and strategic partnerships. It urges global leaders across all sectors to prioritize mental health as essential to how we respond, recover, and reimagine

Results & Impact

The study showed that despite an overwhelming news cycle, Gen Z actively consume news more than any other type of content, and they feel a strong sense of accountability for shaping the future. The results underscore the urgent need to support Gen Z’s well-being and agency in building a better world
