Summary

The feminist collective Plena launched “Tattoos Educate” to confront the erasure of women in history. Fifty women tattooed forgotten female icons on their skin and revealed them online: almost no one could recognize them. That provocation sparked a movement. For 60 days, the stories of 30 women were shared, echoed in media and debates. The body became a book, the tattoo a memory, and absence turned into presence.
