About This Project

Summary

When fires broke out in the LA, our organization quickly made the decision to halt business and mobilize the community and support fire victims. Our creative wellness studio The WalkGood Yard opened up as a community hub for families who had lost their homes and needed clothes, supplies, someone to talk to, or just a space of solitude. We offered free yoga classes. Online we shared crucial health education and mental health resources for those struggling during the tragedy.

Goals & Objectives

Our goal at WalkGood LA is to offer accessible healing for underrepresented communities. There was a need for healing after the fires and our sole objective was to reach the families. Additionally we wanted to ensure people were informed and that we were humanizing the lived experiences of so many.

Results & Impact

More than 600 volunteers mobilized in the initial days of the fire response, helping and spreading resources. We received donations from all over the country, even internationally. Our social media campaign was shared more than 350K times, with more than 63M impressions on Instagram.
