About This Project
Summary
When Gaza's borders were sealed this spring, World Central Kitchen cooked until every ounce of our food stock was gone, but we did not give up. We prepared for the day when we could cook again -- repairing facilities and equipment. We pivoted our resources -- expanding our kitchen's water desalination systems to deliver water when we could not deliver food. We produced bread using a mobile bakery that can be moved out of active conflict zones in an ever changing war zone.
Goals & Objectives
We believe food is a human right—everywhere. In Gaza, our content highlights on-the-ground realities and the resilience of our Palestinian team as they adapt with determination and innovation to keep our mission going, despite the immense challenges.
Results & Impact
Content captured by our Palestinian team in Gaza has driven some of WCK’s highest social engagement. By showing authentic moments, we’re building awareness and driving support—including donations—for our ongoing work in the region.
