About This Project
Summary
Wild Classroom, World Wildlife Fund’s educational resource hub, contains a library of free teaching materials aimed at increasing the environmental literacy of K-12 learners. Through engaging lesson plans, action projects, videos, games, and virtual events, Wild Classroom brings nature into formal, nonformal, and homeschool settings by helping students understand their connection to the natural world and inspiring them to take action for a sustainable future.
Goals & Objectives
Wild Classroom aims to support educators with free tools and resources needed to integrate environmental education into their teaching, build a strong connection to nature among students, and inspire action and leadership in sustainability within the next generation.
Results & Impact
Since its 2017 launch, over 165,000 educators have used Wild Classroom resources. It has an active community of 35,000 members, with an estimated yearly reach of 2 million students, and has earned recognition from the Anthem Awards, Webby Awards, and AASL.
