About This Project

Summary

Climate change is not a distant threat but a reality, visible in the melting polar ice. Yet what we don’t see, we rarely protect. ZEISS and polar explorer Sebastian Copeland aim to reveal the Arctic’s fragile beauty and the effects of climate change. Their mission is to raise awareness, support science, and inspire action, reaching from Greenland’s northernmost school to a global audience. Especially now, when sustainability fades from focus, it matters more than ever.

Goals & Objectives

The goal of the campaign was to raise global awareness of climate change through compelling visual storytelling, empower young minds by supporting science education with ZEISS technology, and inspire action by showcasing ZEISS's commitment to sustainability and education.

Results & Impact

“The Last Generation on Ice” reached millions, from students in Greenland to viewers around the world. With 68M+ impressions, public talks, festivals, and exhibitions, it became a flagship of ZEISS sustainability. The film “Melting Giants” was featured at the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival.
