About This Project
Summary
In our Real People, Real Stories series, we aim to demonstrate that everyone, regardless of age or background, possesses the power to make a meaningful impact on others' lives. This video shows how one retired man is transforming his community through a love of repairing bikes. During the pandemic Manuel Vera offered to give free bike tune-ups to his neighbors which evolved to him repairing unwanted bikes and handing them out to people in need, especially within the Maryland refugee community.
Goals & Objectives
Through providing the audience with a personal story they can connect with; our goal is to empower our audience to take action and inspire change in their own communities. We also wanted to amplify Manuel’s mission in hopes of increasing bike donations, creating further impact in his community.
Results & Impact
This video was produced in both Spanish and English to further our audience reach. Together the videos have reached over 10k people with over 10k views and hundreds of engagements with many comments on how impressive Vera’s work is.
