About This Project

Summary

Artificial intelligence is the most profound technology since the internet. Its effects on society cannot be overstated. Yet with all the hype and news coverage, how AI will change the lives of older adults and their families can be tough to understand. The stories submitted aim to demystify AI for adults 50 and older and address its potential and shortcomings in election disinformation, fraud, mental health therapy, retirement planning, even cheating in school.

Goals & Objectives

If older adults aren’t thinking about artificial intelligence, they should be. It has the potential to help people live better and be more in control of their lives as they age. The promises of AI — in finance, health care, politics — are significant. But the technology also has a flip side.

Results & Impact

Our package didn’t begin as a project. But when we saw AI’s creep into so many parts of people’s lives, we decided to create a package to tie all the pieces together. The stories and a quiz have received 600,000 page views so far this year and 450,000 unique visitors. We add and update as necessary.
