About This Project
Summary
In a space that has been traditionally full of stories inspired by Eurocentric history, we the creators of DesiQuest wanted to invite people from within our culture and new to it to see a new world inspired by South Asian culture and mythology. In doing so, we want to help those who may feel disconnected from their South Asian heritage see themselves in this gaming world, and to invite people from outside our culture to come sit at our game table and learn through role play and fantasy and fun!
Goals & Objectives
To show characters and stories in a tabletop RPG show inspired by South Asian culture but not exclusive to it so we could bring people of all backgrounds to be a part of the community; a space where people felt safe to ask questions, learn & have fun, to encourage more inclusion through play.
Results & Impact
From our Kickstarter to now we have not only reached audiences worldwide and received high acclaim from outlets as big as NPR and Forbes, but we have also received countless messages from creators and players of all backgrounds thanking us for opening this world to them...and we intend to continue!
