About This Project
Summary
Bendable is a community-centered learning marketplace. Our digital platform leverages resources from the public library and beyond to provide people with access to free learning content in areas that matter to them the most, including work skills, personal technology, financial literacy and well-being. Bendable served as the hub of a library-based workforce development pilot in partnership with local employers, social service providers and economic development agencies in North San Diego County.
Goals & Objectives
Bendable’s library-based workforce development pilot had the goals of fostering economic mobility for entry-level job seekers, equipping the public library to play a more effective role in the local workforce ecosystem and providing insights for successful scaling of the model to other communities.
Results & Impact
Over 75,000 learners have used Bendable through public libraries. Bendable’s workforce development program pilot capped the number of job-seekers at 150. Of those, 47 completed the first milestone of the learning pathway and 19 completed the program. Three microcredential earners landed jobs.
