About This Project
Summary
At our innovation agency, Boldium, we believe well-designed AI tools can significantly narrow the literacy gap. That’s why we developed MagicTale, a free, interactive storytelling app in support of this mission. MagicTale employs two key techniques to enhance literacy. First, it fosters a deeper connection with reading by generating personalized stories that resonate with kids’ lives. Second, it sparks deeper engagement with reading by involving kids in the co-creation of the stories themselves.
Goals & Objectives
One key to literacy is having books at the right level that spark interest. Our goal is to narrow the literacy gap by making it easy to create such books. By offering this app for free, we aim to help kids with lower literacy skills develop both the skills and love for reading.
Results & Impact
While we've only recently launched MagicTale, so far the surveys we have conducted have been overwhelmingly positive. Caretakers and teachers report that MagicTale is a highly innovative tool that can significantly help improve literacy skills.
