About This Project

Summary

Mitu Yilma is the Director of Content and Brand for Born This Way Foundation. As of her joining six years ago, the Foundation's campaigns, programs, and research have reached billions of impressions, bringing mental health resources and kind platforms to young people globally. She also co-created and co-leads the Be There Certificate, a free, online mental health course that has connected 40,000+ people with a course that teaches them how to support anyone struggling with their mental health.

Goals & Objectives

Mitu's work is to connect young people globally with the Foundation's research, programs, and resources through youth-first, inclusive, creative campaigns. She also works to connect young people in the Foundation's network with platforms to share about their experiences and inspire kind advocacy.

Results & Impact

Under Mitu's leadership, the Foundation's social followings increased by an avg 2.5K%, campaigns reached billions of impressions, and youth have taken action with 46K+ Be There Certificates earned, 115 countries using #BeKind365, 2K+ Channel Kindness stories published, + 2K KiC nominations received.
