About This Project
Summary
Climate Power aims to empower leaders to take bold climate action — like Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). But a year after it was signed, however, the historic climate bill’s impacts were still largely unknown to more than half of voters. To amplify the law’s positive impacts and highlight the importance of action today for outcomes tomorrow, Climate Power partnered with BPI and NYT bestselling author and illustrator Todd Parr to write a children’s book called The Big Hope Plan (TBHP).
Goals & Objectives
Educating voters to rally support: A year after it passed, 33% of voters hadn’t heard anything about the IRA, but 68% supported it after learning more. TBHP transformed a complex, unknown policy into a clear picture for families to see how today’s advocacy + action will benefit generations to come.
Results & Impact
2,000 elected leaders + activists as well as 40+ schools and libraries received a copy of TBHP. Parents loved having a tool to talk to their kids about climate action. They engaged on social, as did influencers, with content that amplified Biden’s actions, like the IRA, to tackle climate change.
