About This Project
Summary
This video highlights the critical work of Celeste Paula, a health promoter for Centro Hispano de East Tennessee. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the barriers to health care access that the Latino community in Knoxville already faced were amplified. Through the Partnering for Vaccine Equity (P4VE) program, Centro Hispano has been working to provide vaccine education and information. Celeste Paula works closely with community members to ensure they have access to the health services they need.
Goals & Objectives
The video shows Celeste Paula’s dedication and the impact she has in her community. It also demonstrates that working in partnership with local community-based organizations, like Centro Hispano, can help improve health equity and ensure that people have access to the services they need.
Results & Impact
The CDC Foundation partnered with 123 community-based organizations through the Partnering for Vaccine Equity (P4VE) program. These CBOs have helped administer 230,000 lifesaving vaccines to adults. This video effectively tells the story of P4VE's impact from a personal and local perspective.
