Conservation Nation Academy

About This Project

Summary

The Conservation Nation Academy is a set of free lessons that challenge stereotypes and feature authentic conservation champions from around the world who come from diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. This is a password-protected portal because we are conducting a pilot of the lessons and offering stipends to teachers from Title 1 schools to give us feedback in 2024. This site includes all of the forms and instructions for educators and features unique video lessons and resources.

Goals & Objectives

Our goal is to introduce students to environmental careers and diverse conservation role models in a fun and interactive way. Our lessons help students examine stereotypes, beliefs, and facts about wildlife conservation; explore conservation careers; and notice nature in their own neighborhoods.

Results & Impact

The feedback collected from at least 150 educators and 5,000 students through the forms on this website will be valuable in revising and optimizing the Conservation Nation Academy curriculum for national rollout on our main website (www.conservationnation.org) in early 2025.
