About This Project
Summary
Led by CEO Alix Guerrier, DonorsChoose is on a mission to give every student in every community the tools and resources they need for a great education. Guerrier joined in 2021, following the founder’s 21 year tenure at the organization’s helm. With Alix’s experience as a math teacher, McKinsey education consultant, ed tech founder, and CEO of international nonprofit Global Giving, his business acumen and passion for education are bringing DonorsChoose into a new chapter of expanded impact.
Goals & Objectives
In addition to navigating the complexities of a founder-CEO transition, Alix is activating the organization's untapped potential to accelerate compound growth & innovation so we can meet the shifting needs of public school students post-pandemic, especially for America’s most underfunded classrooms.
Results & Impact
Under Alix’s leadership, DonorsChoose has opened up new avenues for both funding and impact: conducting and sharing original research on teachers’ needs, expanding to serve classrooms in Puerto Rico, leading teams to raise $522M from donors and institutional partners in three years, and more.
