About This Project
Summary
With 59% of 16-25 year olds worried about climate change and 84% seeking careers aligned with their interests, young people need help turning eco-anxiety into eco-action. Australia’s largest renewable energy developer Neoen, in partnership with Canberra Institute of Technology, sought to inspire and seed the future renewable workforce. We created Futureville, a fun-first game for students to learn about careers in renewable energy by exploring, meeting workers and collecting their trading cards.
Goals & Objectives
By mapping jobs to interests, students can see a range of possible careers uniquely suited to them. Students can align their subject choices and post-school study with a climate-conscious career. Through play, students learn about, collect, and are inspired to pursue jobs in renewable energy.
Results & Impact
Futureville enhances Neoen’s Learning Hub—a suite of videos, interactive games, classroom activities, and quizzes available for teachers. It has been used by over 4000 students across Australia and has become a crucial tool for Neoen’s engagement managers to foster new community connections.
