About This Project
Summary
There is no guaranteed legal representation for unaccompanied kids in immigration court, no matter how young they are. To fill this unjust gap in representation, Acacia Center for Justice is recruiting immigration lawyers across the country to work in the field. Off the heels of a devastating asylum decision, we acted fast to partner with an influential attorney and law student on TikTok to elevate our message to our target audiences (established lawyers and law students) from voices they trust.
Goals & Objectives
By raising awareness of the injustice unaccompanied children face when navigating immigration proceedings alone, we sought to inspire lawyers to explore a career change to work in Acacia's Unaccompanied Children Program or enroll in the Immigrant Justice Corps Justice Fellowship.
Results & Impact
The two videos reached a combined 1.4 million views on TikTok – and led to over 800 new followers to Acacia’s new TikTok account. The videos also include a verbal call to action to visit the campaign landing page, which saw a roughly 300% increase in direct traffic in the days after the release.
