About This Project
Summary
The Kijana Global Innovation School is a unique, collaborative institution serving rural Kenyan youth and connecting students and communities in rural Kenya with students and communities in the United States. Our school incorporates multiple curricular themes in an effort to create a holistic learning environment that builds lifelong, exploratory and interactive global citizens. Our strategy involves marketing it locally and engaging and broadening our wider donor community.
Goals & Objectives
Four elements of the Kijana Global Innovation School’s uniqueness include: visual and creative arts incorporation, inspirational architecture and learning spaces, opportunities for environmental exploration, and global collaboration. We aim to provide a new model for educational advancement.
Results & Impact
In five years, we have built a vibrant school community. In July 2019, the space where the school is was barren, sloped landscape. Today, a beautiful school exists, where 235 students “care, share and explore” and more than 35 faculty and staff inspire, organize and make it all possible.
