Summary

Laila Mickelwait, Founder of the global Traffickinghub movement, has been combating the injustice of sex trafficking since 2006. After discovering in 2020 PornHub did not verify the age or consent of the millions of individuals featured in its pornographic content leading to the site featuring child sexual abuse, rape and trafficking, Laila made it her mission to bring justice to the countless victims of the site and accountability to its executives for profiting from mass sexual crime.

Goals & Objectives

TraffickingHub is a movement to hold Pornhub and its executives accountable for mass sex trafficking, rape, and child exploitation. Laila advocates for mandatory age and consent verification and preventative legislation to hold not just Pornhub, but all user-generated porn platforms accountable.

Results & Impact

Over 2.3 million people signed the Traffickinghub petition, hundreds of survivors and 600 organizations participated. Pornub took down 80% of the site (10 million videos and 30 million images), and lost all credit card processing. 26 lawsuits were filed, and the company was criminally charged.
