About This Project
Summary
Who cares about the deportations of the holocaust in Germany? As studies show, fewer and fewer young people. That's why we set out to meet young where they are and use gaming for education. Together with leading scientists, we set out to create a visual investigation game that puts young people in the shoes of a journalist investigating the horrors of our past. Interactively, they discover information and shocking details in an immersive 3D attic to assemble their own report and find all details
Goals & Objectives
It was our goal to reach as many young people as possible within and beyond the classroom. Secondly, we wanted to proof that young people are capable of running the investigation themselves and achieve deep involvement and familiarity through interactive challenges contrasting standard education.
Results & Impact
The education game was played by over 5000 young people during the current beta-launch phase with an average play-time of over 45 minutes and 80% completion rate, showing high involvement and interest. Over 75% said the game had led them to "draw significant conclusions from history for today".
