Regenerative Farming: Tackling Racism with Rice [The Jubilee Justice Story]
Laura Flanders and Friends PROJECTAbout This Project
Summary
This project showcases a collective of Black farmers, working on an old Louisiana plantation, who grow a water-efficient rice strain which they mill at the region's first Black-owned mill. It pulls together several important topics: reparations, food sovereignty, and environmentally friendly agriculture. By bringing this project to our nationwide PBS, public radio, and podcast audience, we aim to inform the public about viable alternatives to our current food system.
