Summary

Using nearly 100 historical objects, works of art, textiles, and documents from the Museum’s rich collection, the Timeline of the American Revolution explores both key moments and surprising stories from the American Revolution through a visually rich and user-friendly digital experience. The Timeline places these objects in their historical context and facilitate exploration of America’s founding and the ongoing relevance of the Revolution for diverse audiences.

Goals & Objectives

The Museum's goal for the Timeline of the American Revolution is to spark users’ curiosity, encourage discovery, and inspire deeper exploration of the powerful and fascinating stories of the American Revolution and its people.

Results & Impact

Since launching in April 2023, the Timeline has generated hundreds of thousands of pageviews and has reached tens of thousands of users. "Thank you for curating an absolutely gorgeous historical collection. My students always really enjoy interacting with it," wrote one 8th grade teacher.
