About This Project
Summary
"Cellblocks to Mountaintops" is a multimedia podcast with a companion video series. It delves into how America addresses violence, defines justice, and seeks accountability through the compelling journey of one man. Years after committing a horrific crime, Sterling Cunio confronts the full ripple effects of the harm he caused. Through artistic expression, human connections, and inspired by restorative justice principles, he undergoes a remarkable personal transformation.
Goals & Objectives
To showcase the power of human transformation and restorative justice through the stories of incarcerated men convicted as juveniles to life without parole. Our goal is to inspire transformation in offenders, healing for victims and their communities, and help children caught in cycles of violence.
Results & Impact
Incarcerated men have told us this was the first time they saw themselves accurately depicted in the media and that Sterling's story inspires them to continue working on their own transformations. Reviewers call the podcast a "must listen," "eye-opening," and "perspective shifting."
