About This Project

Summary

Old Navy is one of America’s largest employers of entry level jobs, and through our This Way ONward program we help marginalized young people obtain first jobs that help to develop life skills and confidence through valuable experience. Since 2007, This Way ONward has paved the way to employment and financial stability for thousands of youths, and our community partners enable us to provide comprehensive services like transportation, mental health counseling and English language learning.

Goals & Objectives

This Way ONward aims to boost employability and confidence for economically marginalized youth by enhancing skills and promoting job access. Old Navy aims to bridge the opportunity gap by building an inclusive talent pipeline and strengthening connections between stores and their local communities.

Results & Impact

In 2023, This Way ONward reached 4,500 youth and hired 1,434 employees - 4.3% of new Old Navy associates. Since the program began, we’ve impacted 20,000 youth, while strengthening community partnerships. Participants report longer job tenures, higher engagement, improved skills, and higher incomes.
