About This Project
Summary
Visions in Motion symbolizes the voice of the people. The large scale, participatory artwork incorporates tens of thousands of messages collected from all over the world, forming an open letter for hope and peace. From the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, where the Wall separated East and West, to the Demilitarized Zone that bisects North and South Korea today, the artwork travels the globe with a mission to facilitate a global conversation by and for the people.
Goals & Objectives
The artwork has been presented at the Let’s DMZ Peace Arts Festival and officially commemorated the 30th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall at Maurfall Festival. Respectively, curators sought artwork that uniquely engages the public and symbolizes unity at the historically significant sites.
Results & Impact
Over 1 million visitors attended the exhibition in Berlin and 12,000 more attended at the DMZ. Through community partnerships, Poetic Kinetics has cumulatively captured 50,000 messages from the public in the artwork, including dignitaries and celebrities, forming a highly visible voice for peace.
