About This Project
Summary
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we asked our community to pick up the phone and make a good call. The Make a Good Call campaign was a response to the loneliness epidemic recently called out by the U.S. Surgeon General. We invited callers to dial 877-HEY-RARE for supportive messages from Selena Gomez and the Rare Beauty team each day in May; call a loved one; or call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
Goals & Objectives
Bring awareness to the loneliness epidemic Encourage connection through a good, ol’ fashioned phone call Connect directly and authentically with our community via 877-HEY-RARE Employ crisis prevention for those who need more than a familiar voice via the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
Results & Impact
The month-long campaign saw 3,500+ callers reach out to 877-HEY-RARE the first day. Picked up by national press and shared across social media, the initiative raised awareness while working to decrease the stigma around loneliness and encouraged those who need support to seek it.
