Samsung Global Goals App

About This Project

Summary

Recognizing the urgency to address global challenges, Samsung partnered with the UNDP in 2019 to create the Samsung Global Goals app, which empowers Galaxy users to contribute by taking small actions towards achieving the 17 UN Global Goals. Within the app, users can learn about each goal and how it impacts communities worldwide. Each in-app advertisement viewed raises funds the users can put towards a goal of their choice, which is then matched by Samsung, doubling the impact of each user.

Goals & Objectives

The Samsung Global Goals App was created with the belief that small actions add up to meaningful change. The objective is to leverage technology to deepen understanding of the Global Goals and work together to fund related initiatives. It amplifies UNDP content to drive awareness of ongoing work.

Results & Impact

As of June 2024, the app has been downloaded on over 350 million devices worldwide, and the community has raised USD 17.5 million to directly support the Global Goals and UNDP initiatives. Samsung and UNDP will continue to partner on new opportunities to use technology for positive impact.
