About This Project
Summary
The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe is required to produce a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies Plan each year for the US Department of Commerce - Economic Development Administration in compliance with a grant agreement. Many cities, counties, states, regions and Tribes also produce similar plans, but few capture the history, culture, and traditions of the community like the UMUT's 2025-2026 Plan. The US Department of Interior - Bureau of Indian Affairs calls it the "gold standard."
Goals & Objectives
The objective of the plan is to create strategies and timelines for community and economic development initiatives to benefit 2,100 members of the community. The stunning visualization and storytelling inform and education the public and potential of ongoing funding partners.
Results & Impact
The anticipated impact of the 2025-2026 Plan is to generate $240M in funding over the next 5 years. This year alone we have applied for $64M in funding telling stories and using data from this publication. Grants received have been for water, housing, roads, public safety, and schools.
