About This Project
Summary
Space Workforce 2030 partnered with NASA, the White House, MIT, Smithsonian, and 30+ leading space companies to produce a 45-minute YouTube broadcast for National Space Day that was seen around the world, and in over 7000 classrooms. The program features scientists, physicists, rocket and aerospace engineers, and an astronaut speaking about why space is important and how to get involved. Students earned a Mission Patch, and teachers continue the conversation with a provided curriculum package.
Goals & Objectives
Chartered to expand the space industry’s workforce and its talent pipeline, Space Workforce 2030 inspires 4th and 5th graders across the US to pursue STEM studies and consider the applications of space to everyday life, what the future of space looks like, and how they can get involved.
Results & Impact
Thanks to SWF2030 efforts, Congress recognized May 3 as National Space Day. Our program reached teachers in all 50 states and over 48 countries, earning 465,000 views. Over 1,900 students wrote responses that reflected their desire to pursue careers in the space industry, from artist to astronaut.
