About This Project

Summary

The Roof Crop began as a project to market farmable green roof systems in 2013 and has since grown into a green roof growing media, landscape and urban farm company. The Roof Crop's newest location is a purpose built research and development roof where we are trialling new green roof media and installation techniques as well as season extension through 3 passively heated mixed media greenhouses.

Goals & Objectives

The goal for the renovation was to build upon the existing infrastructure and provide a foundation for exploring and marketing green roofs ecosystem to the wider community as well as growing crops for the businesses within the redeveloped spaces below (Flash Point Innovation & Maxwells Trading).

Results & Impact

The results are still coming in as this is the first full growing season; however, to date we have harvested 6,748 stems and blooms and 838 pounds of produce.
