About This Project
Summary
Niagara Cares, the charitable division of Niagara Bottling, LLC, teamed up with Games for Change and Filament Games to launch “Salvage Safari” within Roblox’s Robot World. A free-to-play adventure where players learn about recycling habits and circular economy through epic environmental quests, storytelling, and STEM-based gameplay. It’s fun, fast-paced, and sparking real-world change, one digital bottle at a time.
Goals & Objectives
Salvage Safari was created to educate the next generation of players around recycling and the circular economy, while fostering STEM learning, creativity, and collaboration. With a goal of 1M virtual items recycled, the free, mobile-friendly game far surpassed expectations.
Results & Impact
Since the launch, Nov ‘24, the game has reached over 512,000 unique plays. Players have digitally sorted 2.23 million items and digitally recycled the equivalent of 12.44 tons of plastic, achieving an 84.24% sorting rate, showing real-world learning and behavior change through a digital experience.
