About This Project
Summary
In 2017, I launched my own podcast called Tuckered Out with Ami Thakkar (Tuck-er), interviewing trailblazers, experts, and prominent voices from the South Asian diaspora. We talk about the messiness of growing up brown, have honest conversations about personal and professional journeys, and discuss all those topics South Asians tend to shy away from. We also exchange good uncle jokes.
Goals & Objectives
My ultimate vision? To have open and have vulnerable conversations about the messiness of being South Asian and representing the South Asian culture. To share the South Asian story, from all points of views and all backgrounds. To showcase all the amazing roles South Asians are playing.
Results & Impact
For over 150 episodes, the podcast has had over 300,000 downloads, is listened to in over 25 countries, and had had thousands of unique listeners of all ages and backgrounds. The South Asian story is universal and the stories resonate with anyone who has had felt like "the other".
