About This Project
Summary
We don’t talk about shame enough. Shame is used as a weapon, particularly in India, to keep girls and women in prescribed roles and prevent them from realizing their full potential. But the only way to take power away from shame is to talk about it... boldly and broadly. So, Unicorn Island Fund sat down with prominent voices in India to reach new audiences with shameless conversations, challenging entrenched social norms and shifting the culture around how we value and treat girls and women.
Goals & Objectives
We enlisted role models in India that appeal to broad populations, leveraged their influence to reach new audiences and created a welcoming space to have tough conversations. Shame is universal and our goal is to find that connection point to begin conversations around harmful social norms.
Results & Impact
Upon launch, the Instagram series garnered record views and engagement – 5+ Million views with an average 7.7% engagement rate. There is strong demand for longer conversations from audiences, influencers have proactively reached out asking to participate and production on Season 2 has started.
