About This Project
Summary
Behind every piece of recycled plastic is a person. Invisible Warriors shines a light on the women who form the backbone of Viet Nam's recycling system but whose work often goes unseen. By following their daily lives, the film connects the global challenge of plastic pollution with the people driving local solutions. The strategy was to humanize a complex environmental issue and show that a more circular economy depends on recognizing, supporting and investing in these essential workers.
Goals & Objectives
Raise awareness of the essential role informal waste workers play in tackling plastic pollution, challenge perceptions of their work, and highlight how stronger support and collaboration can improve livelihoods while advancing a more inclusive circular economy.
Results & Impact
Brought greater visibility to the people behind Viet Nam's recycling system, helping audiences understand the human side of plastic pollution while showcasing how the World Economic Forum's Global Plastic Action Partnership supports more inclusive, community-led solutions.
