Anthem Community Voice Awards Explained

Here’s everything you need to know about the Anthem Community Voice Awards—a two-week celebration period inviting the public to join us in amplifying the work of the 2024 Anthem Awards Finalists

Finalists of the 4th Annual Anthem Awards will be announced on Tuesday, October 15th! This marks the start of the Anthem Community Voice Awards, where we invite our community to celebrate and help spread the word of the impact of this year’s Finalists in a two-week celebration period.

Though our judges continue to select Finalists and our Gold, Silver, and Bronze Anthem Winners, last year we decided to also give the public a say in our recognition efforts. We were blown away by the positive response from our community and inspired by the inaugural class of Anthem Community Voice Winners that were selected by the public.

Now, it’s nearly that time of the year again. From Oct. 15th to Thursday, October 31st, Anthem Finalists will have the opportunity to promote their projects to the public to garner support.

If you’re an Anthem Finalist, this is your time to shine and celebrate your transformative advocacy with your communities. If you’re a part of our community, this is your time to use your voice and help support the work of the 2024 Anthem Finalists.

Here’s a quick guide on how the celebration window will work.

What Does It Mean to be a Finalist?

From the over 2,300 entries submitted during the call for entries of the 4th Annual Anthem Awards, our esteemed Judges in the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) are currently reviewing each entry to select the very best as the Winners of the 4th Annual Anthem Awards.

If a project has been selected as a Finalist, it means it’s eligible to win either a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Anthem Award in this year’s competition, as determined by esteemed Anthem Judges. In addition to these distinctions, being a Finalist also puts the project in the running to win an Anthem Community Voice Award, as decided by the public during the two-week celebration window.

What is an Anthem Community Voice Award?

As the members of IADAS select Gold, Bronze, Silver Anthem Winners, the Internet public uses their voices to support and select the Anthem Community Voice Winners. The for-profit and nonprofit Finalists with the greatest support in each of our 7 cause areas (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Education, Arts & Culture, Health, Human & Civil Rights, Humanitarian Action & Services, Responsible Technology and Sustainability, Climate & Environment) will win this additional honor.

The Anthem Community Voice Award and the Gold, Silver, Bronze Awards are two distinct sets of recognitions designed to amplify the work of our Finalists in dynamic ways. Launched last year, the Anthem Community Voice Award aims to engage the public in meaningful initiatives and raise awareness of the transformative changes our Finalists are driving.

How Can I Participate in Anthem Community Voice?

All humans can participate and celebrate our Finalists’ work starting Tuesday, October 15th, until Thursday, October 31st! Celebrate them today at celebrate.anthemawards.com.

How Will the 2024 Anthem Winners Be Selected?

Each project that receives the greatest amount of support from the public during the audience celebration window will win an Anthem Community Voice Award. In addition to this publicly decided distinction, each Finalist is in the running to win a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Anthem Award decided on by esteemed Anthem Judges. Our Jurors provide scores for entries based on the appropriate criteria for each category and eventually cast ballots to determine the winners.

Categories may have multiple Gold, Silver, or Bronze winners, depending on relative scoring. Jurors may not vote in any category in which they have a conflict of interest. Learn more about our judging process and criteria here.

Patagonia – Don’t Buy This Jacket

Patagonia has put social impact at the core of their brand mission and values from the start, and their iconic Don’t Buy This Jacket campaign demonstrates how brands can use their platform to make an impact — or better yet, to help reduce our impact. This 2011 ad ran in the New York Times on Black Friday, making a lasting impression for its bold message addressing the issue of consumerism head on and asking readers to take the Common Threads Initiative pledge to reduce, repair, reuse, recycle, and reimagine a world where we take only what nature can replace.
